In celebration of Pride Month, the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) demonstrated its commitment to equality and inclusivity by participating in Pride Runs in key locations across the country—Cebu on June 22, and both Metro Manila and Davao on June 29.

The activity served as the culminating event of SHFC’s SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression, and Sex Characteristics) orientation series. It was spearheaded by MOVE-ALAK (Alyansa ng mga Lalaking Ayaw sa Karahasan—Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere), a group of male SHFC employees and allies advocating for gender equality and the rights of people with diverse SOGIE. A total of 95 SHFC personnel participated—45 women and 50 men—reflecting strong support from across the organization.

MOVE-ALAK’s active involvement strengthens male visibility as allies in the fight for gender equality and LGBTQIA+ rights. This year’s participation in the Pride Runs goes beyond celebration—it represents a conscious effort to break stereotypes, promote safe spaces, and reaffirm that ending discrimination and violence is everyone’s responsibility, regardless of gender.

SHFC’s ongoing engagement underscores continuous support for advocating equal treatment and inclusive opportunities for individuals of diverse SOGIESC.

The agency’s Gender and Development (GAD) Team and the GAD Focal Point System actively support initiatives that promote equal recognition and protection of rights.
